In 2021 I booked a surprise Mother’s Day trip for my mom whose dream it was to
travel to Iceland. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but - I really wasn’t that excited to
visit. I wanted to go to the Blue Lagoon and call it a day. But little did I know, the
moment I would step foot in Iceland, my life would change forever
As soon as we touched ground in Iceland, and drove through endless lava fields
at 6am in the morning, I had chills throughout my body. Iceland was another
world. Another planet. It was a form of magic that drew me into a complete and
unshakeable trance. I was obsessed at how such a tiny island could be so vast
and powerful.
Well, if that wasn’t juicy enough… We also hired a private tour guide who was unexpectedly very cute - and charming. So I said “hey, let’s take a chance on life!” At the end of our trip, I left him a tip with my phone number rolled up inside and the rest was history. We were married 3 years later, and I uprooted my life to Iceland to be with my forever tour guide.
Through my own real life lens, I began documenting my experience as an American living in Iceland - hopping on tours with my husband, sharing travel tips, beautiful places, and the funny/difficult culture shocks I experienced as an immigrant. My mission is for people to see Iceland through my lens - one where you get to immerse in the true magic of this country and have it change your perspective forever.
